About the Riverside Girls High
P&C
Objectives
The principal objectives of the RGHS P&C are to:
- encourage close cooperation
between parents, teachers & students; and
- help provide facilities &
equipment.
Meetings
The P&C meets on the second Wednesday of the Month, during school terms. Meeting
are held in the Staff Common Room commencing at 7:30pm.
The School Principal provides a report at each meeting on current school
happenings and issues affecting the school and students.
What does the P&C do?
- The P&C is involved in
fundraising through the P&C Contribution scheme and through activities
such as sausage sizzles and trivia nights. However, this is only part of
the P&C's role.
- The P&C is a group of
parents committed supporting the school so every student has the
opportunity to do her best. This involves:
- Feedback - talking to the
Principal and teachers about any issues that are a concern for students.
- Transport - lobbying for
better bus services so that students can get to school and get home
without difficulty.
- Student Welfare - for example,
the P&C contributes to the funding of Better Attitudes Towards Health
Day (BATH day) and Student Leadership
Programs.
School Facilities:
- School Grounds - the P&C
runs working bees every term to improve the school grounds and provide a
pleasant environment.
- Uniform Shop - the P&C
assists the school in running the Uniform Shop making it easier for
parents to provide school uniforms for their daughters at the best
possible price.
Why not come along to the next P&C Meeting, see what is discussed, and have your
say about issues affecting the school and your daughter's education?
